The R.R. Smith Center is the perfect place for your special event. A former hotel, the beautifully renovated historic building is prominently located in the heart of historic downtown Staunton. Gallery spaces and the Mevluda Tahirovic Memorial Garden provide unique and interesting settings for receptions and parties. In addition, excellent venues for meetings and conferences include upstairs classrooms, a lecture hall, and catering kitchen. Easily accessible parking is located directly across the street in Staunton’s New Street parking garage. Complete the following form to request additional information.
Outdoor Garden
The perfect space for any event taking place in the Fall, Summer, or Spring. This space is located just behind our art galleries in the back of our building. This space has seating, greenery, and is hidden away from the hustle and bustle on the street. Guests can enjoy the fresh air and company of our outdoor sculptures and plants for events like wedding ceremonies and baby showers.

Lecture Hall
Our lecture hall is a great space for any business meeting, presentation space, or business oriented event. Our catering kitchen is located just down the hall and the space is hidden on our second floor for peace and quiet while covering any important business.

Historical Society Gallery
One of our indoor rental spaces located on the first floor of the Smith Center, home to the Augusta County Historical Society and their exhibits. Occupancy depending on their current exhibit which guests can enjoy throughout the event! A great space to host a party for your favorite art or history buff.
